Estándar de Compresión y Calidad de Instagram

Instagram displays feed posts at a maximum width of 1080 pixels with aspect ratios between 1.91:1 (landscape) and 4:5 (portrait). For maximum vertical feed visibility, 1080×1350 pixels is strongly recommended. Stories and Reels require 1080×1920 pixels (9:16). Uploading images outside these ratios causes automatic cropping and aggressive JPEG re-compression.

❓ Preguntas Frecuentes

Preguntas Frecuentes sobre Imágenes de Instagram

For Instagram feed posts, the best sizes are 1080 × 1350 px (portrait 4:5 ratio for maximum screen estate) and 1080 × 1080 px (square 1:1). For Instagram Stories and Reels, use 1080 × 1920 px (9:16). For profile pictures, upload at least 320 × 320 px (or 1080 × 1080 px for sharp Retina rendering).

Instagram automatically downsamples any image wider than 1080 pixels and aggressively compresses high-file-size photos. Additionally, Instagram only supports feed aspect ratios between 1.91:1 and 4:5; any taller image (like 9:16) gets cropped at the top and bottom. Pre-sizing your image to exactly 1080px wide prevents automated re-compression and cropping.

Keep all text, branding, and faces within the Instagram Story safe zone by leaving 250 pixels of clearance at the top (under your profile handle) and 250 pixels at the bottom (above the direct message reply bar and swipe up links).

Instagram automatically converts uploaded PNGs into JPEGs during processing. To maintain full control over image quality, export your files as high-quality sRGB JPEGs pre-compressed under 1MB. Use PNG only when designing transparent stickers or graphic overlays.

No. All resizing, cropping, and compression happen locally within your device's browser memory. Your personal photos and creative assets are never uploaded or transmitted to any external server.
